Li Yuanchao will replace He Guoqiang as the head of the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and no longer serve as the secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the CPC.

He Guoqiang was named to the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection at the first plenary session of the 17th CPC Central Committee early this week.

Li was named a member of the 17th Central Committee of the CPC at the 17th National Congress.

At the first plenary session of the 17th CPC Central Committee early this week, Li was named a member of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the 17th Central Committee of the CPC.

Liang Baohua, now governor of east China's Jiangsu Province, will replace Li as the province's Party chief.
