For the next two days, colliding air currents will cause strong winds and
heavy rains in Guangzhou, capital of southern China's Guangdong province and a
major gateway to the outside world, said Guangdong Provincial Meteorological
Observatory.
The observatory predicted showers and thunderstorms for Monday and Tuesday
evening in northwestern and central parts of Guangdong province. The rainy
weather will gradually move out of the province by Wednesday.
Guangzhou will probably see hail storms in the next two days in addition to
the heavy rains and strong winds.
A forecast produced by the observatory said that it was difficult to forecast
the weather in Guangdong because the region is between midway between the rainy
and non-rainy map zones
