Chinese coal mine blast traps 166
On December 1, 2004, Authorities confirmed that all the miners trapped in Sunday's underground explosion in northern China are dead, bringing the fatality toll to 166 in one of the country's most serious mining disasters.

Workers carry an injured colleague out of the Chenjiashan Coal Mine in northern China¡¯s Shaanxi Province yesterday. At least 166 workers were trapped after an explosion tore through the mine, while 127 escaped.
