Indian President Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam met here Monday with
visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.
Kalam said India and China are great countries with long history, adding
Wen's ongoing visit to India has made remarkable achievements, and written a new
chapter for the friendship between the two countries.
He particularly mentioned the two countries should further cooperate in such
fields as science, information and agriculture.
Chinese Premier Wen agreed with Kalam's view, saying India has advantages in
software, and China is good at manufacturing, and the two sides could work
together in the world market.
Wen also agreed with Kalam's proposal on setting up a committee to promote
scientific cooperation.
Wen noted China is an agricultural nation, and has some experience in this
regard, and would like to share the research results in soil improvement, seeds
selection and other fields with India.
