At least eight people were killed and nine injured after torrential rain hit Gansu Province on Saturday night.
The downpour caused flooding and mudflows, the province's flood and drought authority said. In Minxian County alone, eight people were confirmed killed and another nine injured as of Sunday. Officials said the number of casualties will rise as investigation unfolds.
