Zhejiang overcame Shanghai 3-2 Wednesday in the men's volleyball competitions
at the 10th National Games.
Against Shanghai, champion of this year's national league, Zhejiang scored
its second round victory 25-23, 27-29, 25-23, 27-29 and 15-9.
Zheng Xini, head coach of Zhejiang, said his team won the matchdue to
psychological reasons, saying that "Shanghai is a powerful team, but our players
played under no pressure."
Zheng added that Zhejiang will do its best to take on other rivals.
On his part, Shanghai head coach Shen Fulin said he was dissatisfied with his
team's performance.
"It's not important to win or lose the match," Shen said. "Our team has
failed to display its normal level today."
In other second round matches of Group B on Wednesday, Henan upset Hebei 3-1
(25-22, 25-20, 19-25 and 25-16), and Chinese Army beat Hubei 3-0 (25-23, 25-17,
25-17).
In Group A, Shandong eliminated Fujian 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-20,25-18).
Jiangsu downed Liaoning 3-2 (22-25, 25-16, 18-25, 25-20, 15-12), while Sichuan
defeated Beijing 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-15).
