Defending champion Xu Zhiming beat Zhu Xiangcai from
Liaoning in the men's 90kg final.
Jiangsu, host of the 10th Chinese National Games amazingly swept three judo
golds all with ippon in Nanjing on Wednesday.
In the first final on Wednesday, 23-year-old host judoka Wang Juan beat Han
Weiyan from Coal Miners Sports Association with arousing ippon within only two
minutes to crown the title of women's 70kg in front of a roaring crowd.
After grabbing Jiangsu's first judo gold, the national team member excitedly
said that the honor was very important to her.
Olympic bronze medallist Qin Dongya saved a bronze for Liaoning,by flattening
down Kuang Mei from Hunan with ippon.
Subsequently, two male fighters Xu Zhiming and Song Qitao firedup the local
audience with another two gold medals.
In the men's 90kg final, defending champion Xu Zhiming beat Zhu Xiangcai from
Liaoning with an ippon.
Victory of the 25-year-old gave the home delegation a second judo gold medal.
However, Xu made semis with disputed koka win over former 81kg champion Dai Deqi
from Liaoning.
However, the dispute could not hit the high spirited champion at all. "I'm so
excited to win the gold," said Xu, "I performed well in the final and I think I
deserved the win," he added and breezily skipped the question on his doubtful
second round victoryin group stage.
The bronze medal was pocketed by Chinese judo national team's veteran Harihu
from Inner Mongolia, after the 29-year-old took an ippon win over Jiangsu's Teng
Guangying, who was the third-placed judoka in the same category in last National
Games.
Besides, Xu's teammate Song Qitao rolled his opponent Chen Hai down on
shoulder in men's 100kg title-chasing final.
Song, the top seed of the men's half heavy weight category competition, who
will bid farewell to his judo career after the 10th National Games, has been the
title favorite here and his title winning run further enlarged the home
delegation's advantageon medal table to 29 golds, seven more to second-placed
Guangdong.
Defending champion Aotegenbater from the Inner Mongolia settledfor a bronze
as the winner at last two edition of the National Games outclassed Ji Zhongxia
from Shanghai with an ippon in the third-place final.
Du Min from Liaoning was the one and only title winner who was not from
Jiangsu on Wednesday. The 26-year-old judoka flattened down Yang Xiuli from
Sichuan in less than one minute to take the gold of the women's 78kg category
competition It was the first judo gold of the Liaoning delegation at the
National Games.
Du entered the final after surprisingly defeating Olympic silver medallist
Liu Xia from Shandong.
In the bronze medal final, Zhang Fenhong from Shaanxi defeated Xuyan from
Anhui to settle for the third place in this category.
Title favorite Liu Xia only grabbed a sixth place.
So far the host' judo team is holding the top place in the judocompetition
with three golds picked up in one day. Thursday is the final competition day for
the judo events and the all the teams will fight for the last four golds.
