The troika of Guangdong, Fujian and Henan showed their prowess to make the
rowing finals at the Chinese 10th National Games in Nanjing on
Wednesday.
Guangdong had their say again, cruising through to the finals in six men's
disciplines and eight in women's. Fujian and Henan chased closely with more than
seven crews fighting their ways intothe final battlefields respectively.
And host Jiangsu also produced good performances, notching final berths in
six events.
"Our aim is to win two golds out of the 16 on offer," revealed one of the
coaches for the hosting team.
Lin Shoude, head coach of Guangdong told Xinhua that they also eyed for two
titles in the Game, a target which is not ambitious compared with four golds
they got from the last edition four yearsago on home soil.
Hebei, Liaoning, Beijing, Jiangxi, Shanghai and Shaanxi became the second
group with less crews qualifying for the finals.
