Jiangsu's Chen Jin reaches semis at National Games badminton

Jiangsu's Chen Jin made semifinals of men's singles badminton after beating Zhejiang' s Xia Xuanze 2-0 in Kunshang , East China Thursday at the Chinese National Games.
Chen, who ousted Gong Weijie from Fujian in yesterday's quarterfinals, struck an excellent placements to clinch the semifinal berth with a straight 15-7, 15-2 victory.
"I was not in form, and hesitated to hit shots when there is chance to attack, " said Xia, 2003 world champion, adding that Chen is physically stronger than him but still has a long way to go if Chen wishes to overpass Lin Dan of Chinese Army and Bao Chunlai from Hunan, the top two shuttlers in China.
Chen also admitted that he won the match simply because his rival played too bad.
The 19-year-old is to meet world number one Lin in the semifinals, who overcame Hu Yun of Hubei with a 15-2, 15-5 win.
In another match, Hunan's Bao Chunlai crushed Guangxi's Chen Yu 8-15, 15-13, 15-3. With the win, Bo will meet the winner between Lu Yi of Chinese Army and Chen Hong of Fujian.
