Chinese Army beat Shanghai in men's volleyball

Chinese Army overcame Shanghai Thursday in the men's volleyball competitions at the 10th National Games.

The Chinese Army team beat Shanghai, champion of this season's national league 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-20) in the third round competitions of Group B teams.

When asked about his feeling on the result, Chen Gang, head coach of the Chinese Army team, said he was not so excited.

"This is just the beginning of a long way, and we still have a long way to go," he said after the match.

Meanwhile, Shanghai head coach Shen Fulin said Wednesday's lossin a match with Zhejiang had cast a shadow to his team members.

"We lost the match due to pressure," Shen said. "But we'll try our best for the rest of the matches."

In other third round matches of Group B played Thursday, Zhejiang upset Henan 3-1 (39-37, 18-25, 25-13, 25-15), and Hebei also beat Hubei 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 25-14).

In Group A, Beijing eliminated Fujian 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-22).Jiangsu downed Sichuan 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-18), while Liaoning defeated Shandong 3-2 (11-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-12, 15-12).
