Beijing reaches women's table tennis final

Beijing stormed into the final of the women's table tennis team event with a comeback 3-2 win over Liaoning at the 10th Chinese National Games in Wuxi on Friday.

After top two seeds Zhang Yining and Guo Yan lost the first two games, Beijing won the following three games to turn the table around.

The final will feature Beijing and Shandong, who brushed aside Hebei 3-0 in the other semi-final.

Olympic singles gold medalist Zhang lost 13-11, 11-3, 11-5 and 11-4 in the first game against former world No.1 Wang Nan, who will retire after the National Games.

Guo Yan's another 3-1 loss to Guo Yue put Beijing into corner, but third seed Ding Ning kept Beijing alive in the match with a 3-0 win over Liaoning's Chang Chenchen.

Zhang Yining leveled the match with a 3-2 victory over Guo Yue before Guo Yan crushed Wang Nan 3-0.

Title favorite Shanghai had no matchup against the host Jiangsu,who cruised into the final with a 3-0 win in the men's team event.

The Chinese Army toppled Guangdong 3-1 in the other semi-final after Guangdong's top seed, Olympic singles bronze medalist Ma Linlost twice in the match.
