Hebei claims men's individual pursuit cycling gold

Wen Hairui awarded Hebei its first cycling gold after winning the men's
4-kilometer individual pursuit at the 10th National Games in Nanjing , East
China on Friday. Wen clocked in four minutes and 47.417 seconds to take the
gold, while Zeng Zhaoyu of Liaoning won the silver in four minutes and 48.535
seconds. Wen attributed to his lacking of lust win to exhaustion, saying "I
am really tired today. After the first kilometer, I already felt exhausted, but
I am happy to win the gold." The bronze went to defending champion Ma Yajun
of Henan in 4:45. 468. "I should do better in the preliminary stage," said
Ma. In the preliminary stage, Wen topped the table after breaking the finish
line in 4:41.026, Zen placed second in 4:41.418, following by Ma and Song Shuhai
of Guangdong in the third and fourth places respectively. Thus, Wen and Zen
got the chance to compete for the gold, while Ma and Song were only enpowered to
bike for the bronze.
