Former Asian champion Ma Ning claimed the title of women's javelin throw at
the 10th National Games yesterday.
The 21-year-old from Hebei province
held the top position amongthe 18 finalists since the first round as she threw
the javelin for 60.64meters at her first attempt.
Ma was the Asian champion in 2003 and she snatched a silver medal at the 2005
Universiade in Izmir, Turkey with 59.18m.
The Xue Juan from Jiangsu province took silver at 59.87 meters and Shandong's
Geng Aihua grabbed the bronze medal at 59.04 meters.
