Sun Wenli clocked eight minutes and 32.36 seconds to beat his twin brother Sun Wenyong to the second place after the 27-year-old touched the finish line 1.01 seconds later than the defending champion.

The home runner Ye Linzhong claimed the bronze medal for Jiangsu in 8:33.94.
