Individual participant Liu Yinghui won the women's hammer throw here on Monday, the first track and field gold produced in Nanjing at the 10th National Games.

Liu, the reigning national and World Universiade champion in Turkey two months ago, beat Asian record holder Zhang Wenxiu of Chinese Army and host athlete Yang Meiping for the gold in 72.17 meters.
