Qian Jialin of Shanghai stunned national record holder Yu Hui of Shandong to claim the women's individual archery title at the National Games in Nanjing on Wednesday.

Qian scored 110 points from 12 arrows to topple veteran Yu Hui with 102 points. Yu holds the national record of 117 points in thefinal.

Olymipic silver medalist He Yin defeated Guo Dan of Liaoning 108-101 to take the bronze.

At the age of 17, Qian showed incredible calmness during the breath-taking competition. She ousted Olympic silver medalist He Yin in the semi-final through three extra shots after a tie from the regular 12 arrows.

"I didn't have much pressure and tried my best during the match.I was undaunted and that helped me a lot," said a smiling Qian, a member of the Chinese national archery team.

As for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Qian cherished the hope by saying that "2008 is my aim but I have to concentrate for a steady improvement step by step at the moment. It's too early to talk about that."
