Liaoning defeated Hubei 2-1 in Nanjing , East China Friday to snatch men's soccer bronze at the 10th National Games.
In the third-place playoff, players from both sides were unable to show their normal form as rainy weather and slippery turf posed extra difficulties for them.
Liaoning, with more national team players, dominated the first half with an early lead through Deng Li in the fourth minute. Deng 's teammate Chen Tao added another goal in the 67th minute.
Hubei stepped up attacking after losing two goals. In a scramble in the 79th minute, Lin Feng scored a goal for Hubei.
