Olympic champion Xing Huina won double while Liu Xiang anchored the Shanghai quartet to take the silver medal to end up the track and field competition at the 10th Chinese National Games in the Olympic Stadium on Saturday.

Xing claimed her second gold here on Saturday after clocking 15 minutes and 20.03 seconds to win the women's 5,000 meters, and LiuXiang anchored the men's 4x100m relay team to finish second in 39.65s, following the Guangxi team in 39.41s.

More than 20,000 spectators stood in the chilly wind to cheer for the Olympic champions, as Liu Xiang entered the men's 4x100m relay race as a guest actor.

Earlier the day, Yu Chaohong of Yunnan has shattered the Asian record of 3:36:20 holding by compatriot Han Yucheng in the men's 50km race walk, timing in 3:36:06 for the title.

The title of the women's 4x400m relay has gone to the Guangdong with a time of 3:30.51, while Jiangsu won the women's 4x100 metersrelay in 44.19 seconds, Guangdong claimed the men's 4x400 meters relay title in 3:06.97, and Sun Wenyong from Shandong took the gold of men's 5,000 meter race at a time of 13:58.02.

In the field, Hebei's Li Yanxi cleared 16.95 meters to claim the title of men's triple jump.

"I'm so glad to end up the games with a win. I knew I could make it." said Xing Huina, who won the women's 5,000m final race after her arch-rival in women's long distance race Sun Yingjie tested positive for an agent of testosterone and was suspended forthe games on Friday.

Xing entered the National Games for three events, the women's 10,000m, 5,000m, as well as the women's 1,500m. The Shandong native should have made her gold double on Wednesday when she finished the women's 1,500m first in 4:03.98, but was later stripped of the title after she was confirmed to have fouled against second placed Liu Qing.

Jilin took the third consecutive title in women's hockey after beating novice Shanghai. Despite Shanghai's victory over Sichuan earlier, even a lopsided victory gave Guangdong no chance to gain a medal before its confrontation against Jilin.

Defending champion Guangdong found no difficulty in taking the men's team relay with 5,560 points at the conclusion of the modern pentathlon tournament. They started the final run 48 seconds clear of the field to seal the team relay title easily, leaving Shanghai pentathletes chasing after in vain.

In the women's soccer final, a second-half goal by Ren Liping gave Beijing a 1-0 victory over Liaoning. Earlier, Shanghai defeated host Jiangsu 1-0 in the bronze medal match.

Liu Haitao, double champion in the 2002 Busan Asian Games canoeing competition, took his third gold medal in the men's K4 1,000m. Liu, 23, began his haul of gold medals by topping the podium for the Chinese Army in the men's K4 1,000m in 3 minutes and 03.577 seconds.

"It feels terrific, but there are still two more races tomorrow," Liu said, who entered the finals of both the men's K1 500m and K2 500m slated for Sunday.
