Chinese President Hu Jintao ended his successful tour of Macao Monday afternoon. The following are a group of figures and facts to be remembered:

-- First Time : This is the first time that Hu Jintao has come to Macao.

-- Twenty-nine Hours: President Hu Jintao arrived at Macao International Airport at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, and left Macao for Gongbei Checkpoint at around 4:40 p.m. on Monday. The entire tour lasted about 29 hours and 10 minutes.

-- Sixteen Items of Activities: The president attended a celebration gathering marking the 5th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland, the inauguration ceremony of the second-term government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), and a welcome dinner in his honor hosted by the Macao SAR government, and met with Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah and principal officials of the Macao SAR government, and Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa and principal officials of the Hong Kong SAR as well as other activities.

-- Eight Important Speeches. Hu Jintao delivered speeches at the celebration gathering marking the 5th Anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland and the inauguration of the second-term government of the Macao SAR, during his meetings with Macao and Hong Kong chief executives Edmund Ho Hau Wah and Tung Chee Hwa, principal officials of the Hong Kong and Macao SARs, well-known personages from all walks of life in Macao, heads of the representative offices of the central government and the mainland enterprises in the Macao SAR, and during his inspection of the People's Liberation Army Garrison Troops in Macao.

-- Meeting with Two Chief Executives: Hu Jintao met with Macaoand Hong Kong chief executives Edmund Ho Hau Wah and Tung Chee Hwaon Sunday night and Monday morning, respectively.

-- Three Important Ideas: Hu pointed out from the strategic point of view that "one country, two systems" is an unprecedented undertaking, which is a brand-new subject for the central government and the two SAR governments.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining social harmony andunity.

He required the Macao SAR government to further improve its administration capability.

-- Three Significant Meanings: Hu Jintao gave encouragement tothe people, summed up experiences and held out high expectations of the two SARs during his Macao tour.

-- Four "Unswervingly": -- The president said at a dinner givenin his honor by the Macao SAR government, "We will continue to unswervingly implement the 'one Country, two systems' principle, unswervingly administrate the Macao SAR in accordance with the lawby upholding the authority of the Basic Law, unswervingly support the Macao SAR government in its efforts to develop the economy, improve people's livelihood and maintain stability, and unswervingly carry out the policy of 'Macao people governing Macao' with patriots playing the dominant role, practice a high degree of autonomy and achieve the broadest unity under the banner of loving the motherland and loving Macao."
