""One Country, Two Systems"" policy successful in Macao

Macao chief executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah says the policy of one country, two systems has proved very successful in Macao for the past five years.

In an interview, Edmund Ho praised the correctness and vitality of the "one country, two systems" policy as well as a high degree of autonomy and the support provided by the central government for Macao under this policy and the Basic Law of Macao.

The leader of China's special administrative region added that Macao's economy is developing steadily and its people are living a happy and prosperous life.

The local government estimates that the GDP growth in Macao is expected to hit 20 percent this year.
