Jiang Zemin requests for resignation from top military post

Jiang Zemin, chairman of China's State Central Military Commission (CMC),
has requested for resignation from his remaining post as chairman of the
commission, according to a letter read at a presidium meeting of the National
People's Congress, China's parliament, here Friday.
