The Chinese People's Armed Police (PAP), a special force for protecting
government and civilian targets, said Wednesday that it is "totally ready" for
the upcoming parliamentary sessions.
Currently, armed police are guarding Beijing, patrolling along important
buildings, streets, tunnels and railways.
Commander Wu Shuangzhan and Political Commissar Sui Taiming have ordered PAP
forces in the city to ensure the smooth proceeding of the annual sessions of the
National People's Congress (NPC), the top legislature, and the Chinese People's
Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the top political consulting body.
Meanwhile, the PAP headquarters also ordered all its units to ensure social
stability of the whole country during the parliamentary
season.
