The office of the group handling proposals from deputies for Saturday's NPC
Session has announced the progress made in processing proposals from last year's
NPC session. Seven special NPC committees have completed reviewing over 640
bills adopted by the presidium of the previous NPC session. And 75 percent of
the more than 6,000 proposals from the NPC deputies involving criticism and
suggestions have been or are being processed by relevant government organs.
Deputy Head of Office of Group Handling Proposals from 3rd Session of 10th
NPC Li Bojun said,
"There are several highlights for processing bills and proposals from last
year's NPC session. For the first time, the NPC Standing Committee has made
improving the work of processing deputies' bills and proposals its focus. And
for the first time, relevant departments under the NPC Standing Committee and
the State Council have focused their selection of NPC proposals in eight fields,
which all reflect the concerns of the ordinary people and have a significant
bearing on reform, development and social stability. They include protecting the
rights and interests of farmers who have lost their land to real estate
development, as well as the issue of food safety."
