22/4/2006 10:00

Iran will continue peaceful nuclear research, Iranian envoy to international organizations in Vienna Ali Asghar Soltanieh said at a news brief in Moscow yesterday.

"We expect the whole world to realize that we won't stop nuclear research for peaceful purposes," and nobody could bar the Iranian scientific community from conducting this research, Soltanieh was quoted by the Interfax news agency as saying.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspections in Iran "indicated that Iran is not developing nuclear technologies for military purposes," Soltanieh said.

He said that foreign countries, the United States in particular, must respect the conclusions of the IAEA, adding that Tehran is ready to continue its cooperation with the international community in the framework of resolving the Iranian nuclear problem.
