Iran has been offered a possibility to carry out its uranium enrichment if
it meets certain strict conditions, a leading newspaper reported today.
According to the Washington Post, the possibility is based on strict
conditions
European and U.S. officials said Iran has to satisfy International Atomic
Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors and the U.N. Security Council, in line with a
package proposal worked out by the United States, China, Russia, Britain, France
and Germany.
IAEA must determine that Tehran's nuclear program is peaceful and the council
must be satisfied that it is not seeking a nuclear weapon, the officials told
the newspaper.
European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana has conveyed the package
proposal to Iran, which included a lot of incentives and a promise of more talks
if Tehran agrees to suspend uranium enrichment efforts.
