Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said yesterday that his country
would hold talks with the Europeans to achieve progress in settling dispute over
its nuclear program, the official IRNA news agency reported.
In his closing address to the third meeting of the Iranian Students'
Parliament, Ahmadinejad noted that access to nuclear fuel cycle "is the
inalienable right and demand of the Iranian nation."
But at the same time, Iran welcomed dialogue and aimed to make a peaceful use
of nuclear technology under the regulations of the International Atomic Energy
Agency (IAEA), he said.
"The United States should strive not to add to current problems for no reason
at all. If a problem arises, it will affect all," he added.
Iran has insisted on its right to enriching uranium to make fuel for nuclear
power plant, which the United States and its western allies fear could be used
to make nuclear weapons.
They urged Tehran to accept an international proposal to suspend uranium
enrichment in return for incentives or face penalties.
