Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has written to German Chancellor
Angela Merkel, a government said in United Nations yesterday without
disclosing the content of the letter.
The letter was handed to the German charge d'affaires in Tehran by Iranian
Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki, the spokesman said.
Germany is pressing, together with other western countries, Iran to stop its
uranium enrichment program for an offer of political and economic incentives.
Meanwhile, Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani said on Thursday that
the country would continue its nuclear activities.
The European Union trio - Germany, Britain and France - introduced draft
resolution on Iran's nuclear issue to the UN Security Council, urging Iran to
suspend enrichment -related activities.
