15/11/2006 10:12

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said yesterday that time was moving in favor of his country on its nuclear issue and at the moment Iran had gained complete nuclear circulation.

"Time in nuclear issue is moving in favor of us, in near future, perhaps in the current year, we can celebrate the complete access to nuclear technology," Ahmadinejad told reporters at his fourth personal press conference since he became Iran's president.

"The nuclear powers, in spite of their initial resistance against our program, have accepted for Iran a position in nuclear club, it means that we have stabilized our nuclear status," he added.

Meanwhile, the president also vowed his country would like to be nuclearized in the framework of global regulations and Iran wanted to cooperate with international community on the controversial nuclear issue, but excluding Israel.

"We are ready to collaborate with all of the countries in the world except one (Israel) whose legitimacy has been continuously under question," he said.

When asked what he meant about "the celebration in this year", Ahmadinejad said "the great nuclear celebration by the end of this year is the recognition of our nuclear right globally which is under way, after this stabilization of the right our job will be easier".

Iran's current calendar year ends on March 20.

Talking about Iran's nuclear equipment, Ahmadinejad said "we are, on the whole, intending to launch 60,000 centrifuges in the nuclear program".

Iran's top officials have reiterated that the country would never give up the enrichment work, warning the West not to take crucial measures on Iran or may face relevant aftermath. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also has vowed that his country would continue the "glorious path" of its nuclear program.

Meanwhile, Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani said last Friday in Moscow that Tehran would "reconsider" its cooperation policy with the UN atomic watchdog if UN Security Council imposes sanctions.
