China welcomes the smooth completion of the Palestinian parliamentary elections, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said yesterday in Beijing.
Kong made the remark when asked whether China will recognize a Palestinian government led by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), who won a victory in Wednesday's Palestinian parliamentary elections.
He said China hopes that all parties will remain united and solve disputes with Israel through peaceful negotiations.
