Palestinian Deputy Prime Minister Nasser el-Dein al-Sha'er announced on
Wednesday the Hamas-led cabinet would present a new political vision to the
world in an effort to break international isolation.
Al-Sha'er told Palestinian radio Voice of Palestine that the
government would present the world a new political vision soon if it was
approved by the other factions, but he declined to reveal the content of the new
initiative.
He said that the cabinet hoped the new political vision
adopted through the national dialogue could help end the current crisis. "When
we present it to the world, we will see if the goal was to punish the
Palestinian people or to find a solution to the crisis," al-Sha'er said.
The Hamas administration plunged into severe financial
crisis and political isolation after the United States, the European Union and
Israel imposed sanctions to press Hamas to renounce violence and recognize
Israel.
If the pressure "meant to punish the Palestinian people,
they (Palestinians) would be able to respond suitably," al-Sha'er clarified.
Palestinian factions will convene in mid May an
inter-Palestinian conference to thrash out ways of getting out of crisis.
