Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas ordered security forces to intervene in
the bloody clashes between Fatah and Hamas on Tuesday.
In the last two days, the Gaza Strip witnessed severe clashes between Hamas
and Fatah militants, which left three militants killed and dozens of others
injured including school children."I gave my instructions to the security forces
to interfere and use force in preventing anyone who tries to cause problems and
create such unacceptable actions," Abbas told a news conference inRamallah.
Abbas expressed his sorrow for what he described as chaos, saying that "our
aim is not to fight each other, but to solve the problems and to get out of the
crisis."
