Pekerman: We accomplish our objective

Argentina coach Jose Pekerman said after his victory Saturday in
Hamburg that his team accomplished the objective fixed before the
game. Argentina and Cote d'Ivoire presented on Saturday a spectacular game in
the first encounter of the so-called "Group of Death". Argentina won the battle
2-1. During an after-match press conference, Pekerman said Cote d'Ivoire was
an important adversary and couldn't be considered as a debutant of the FIFA
World Cup. He explained his team concentrated a defensive system in the last
ten minutes of game because Cote d'Ivoire has sent several forwards. "We should
not take risk," he said. "We accomplished our objective. It's a collective
victory. Our defensive strategy has worked," he added. Argentina will play a
next game against Serbia and Montenegro on June 16.
