Barthez becomes oldest French player in World Cup history

French goalkeeper Fabien Barthezand defender Lilian Thuram became the two oldest French players ever at a World Cup after they played in France's 0-0 draw with Switzerland in Stuttgart on Tuesday.

Barthez was 34 years and 350 days and Thuram 34 years and 163 days.

France's started eleven was also the oldest line-up ever for France with an average age of 30 years and 191 days.
