Brazils national football team striker Ronaldo said today that he probably
won't play the whole of Brazils first match in the World Cup. The match
against Croatia will be held today at the Berlin Olympic stadium. The player
admitted he is not in his best form and said he will ask to be replaced during
the match if he feels too tired. "I think I have already improved a lot my
physical condition, but I don't know if I will be able to play the whole 90
minutes," said the striker. Ronaldo didn't participate in two of the teams
practices in Germany because of a blister problem in his heels and a fever
caused by flu. But he guarantees he will improve his overall endurance as Brazil
advances in the competition. Meanwhile, Brazils national football team
captain Cafu withdrew the forgery charges that fell on him yesterday. The
Brazilian defender, his wife and Roma Football Clubs President Franco Sensi were
accused by an Italian judge of forging documents to acquire an Italian Passport
in 1999, when Cafu started playing in Italy. The player could go to prison
for nine months because of the charges but an Italian court declared today that
all the involved were innocent.
