President Lula: Brazil did not play its best against Croatia

Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva said that its national team
did not play its best at the match against Croatia, local media said on
Wednesday. "I think we have to win this Cup, but the players need to relax,"
he said. "The important thing is that we won. I am confident that Brazil has the
best team in the world." The president watched the game with his wife Marisa
and several government officials at the official residence for President's
Theater. Meanwhile, over 30,000 people gathered at the Alzirao, a street in the
Tijuca neighborhood, in Rio to watch the match in a giant video screen installed
by the area bars and restaurants. After the match, Samba school Academicos do
Salgueiro performed to the audience. In Sao Paulo 80,000 people watched the
match at a 56 squared meters video screen installed by Sao Paulo's mayor office
at Vale do Anhangabau. A free samba show was also held after the
event. Brazil beat Croatia 1-0 in the their World Cup opener thanks to a
20-yard blast by midfielder Kaka. Brazil next faces Japan on June 18.
