Bangladeshi jail prisoners can watch World Cup, but can't shout

Despite many ordeals of jail life, the inmates of Bangladesh's south-west
Khulna district jail are in an upbeat mood these days, as they have been
provided with color TVs in each of the 12 wards to watch the World Cup. But
they have one big disappointment over the restrictions imposed by the jail
authorities which allowed them only to watch the matches at night. They have
been verbally barred from making noise by way of expressing jubilation when the
team of their favourite scores a goal in the match. The jail inmates have
appealed to the authorities to allow them jubilating in a chorus after a goal is
scored. But there is no response from the the jail authority. So the inmates
can only watch the football matches in their respective wards without making any
noise.
