Bangladesh soccer fans enraged by power cut during World Cup matches

The authorities of Power Development Board(PDB) in Bangladesh has beefed up security measures as football fans attacked many PDB offices for power cut.
In many places fans staged angry protests as they could not watch the World Cup matches of their favorite teams due to power cut by the PDB as the country is facing an acute shortage of power.
Bazlul Haque, spokesperson of the PDB told Xinhua Friday that there were some agitation in a few places where power supply is disrupted at the time of World Cup matches.
But he said the power generation has increased during the last few days.
Haque said board officials were afraid as angry soccer fans are staging demonstrations and this is the reason for tightening security situation around the power offices where there are possibility of being attacked.
The country has shortage of 1200 MW to 1800 MW for which even the diplomatic areas in the capital Dhaka were not spared of load shedding. Most of the areas in the Bangladesh capital experienced four to five hours load shedding.
