Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has opted to rest five of their
players, each earning a yellow card from previous Group D matches, here on
Wednesday for their last clash in the round robin against Mexico.
Midfielders Deco and Costinha, forwards Pauleta and Cristiano Ronaldo, and
defender Nuno Valente have all been marked as "Absent" on the sheet of
Portugal's start list with their side needing only a draw against Mexico to top
Group D.
Mexico, who need a point to ensure their progress, will start with striker
Jose Fonseca for the first time after two impressive displays as substitute.
Bolton striker Jared Borgetti is still out with a hamstring injury.
