Edmilson, who had to leave the Brazilian football team two weeks before
the World Cup due to a knee injury, criticized the Brazilian teams head coach
Carlos Alberto Parreiras tactics yesterday. He said the coachs option for two
fixed strikers, Ronaldo and Adriano, is preventing Ronaldinho, elected by FIFA
the worlds best player, from performing as exceptionally as he usually does in
his team, Barcelona. Edmilson, who is a Ronaldinho teammate in Barcelona,
criticized Parreira in an interview today to local radio station Jovem Pan. He
is in Sao Paulo, Brazil, recovering from an operation on his right knee. The
midfielder also said he appreciates Ronaldinhos humbleness, as he is sacrificing
his talent for the team, showing that, besides being a great athlete, he also
cares about the group. He knows that, if he plays in the same way as he does
back in Barcelona, he will harm the teams tactics, Edmilson added. As for
Brazil's Saturday match against France, Edmilson pointed out that it will be a
tough duel, adding up that, if the team gets through it, he is 90% sure that
Brazil will win its sixth World Cup championship title. The midfielder said he
is recovering well from his injury, physically and
psychologically.
