Nigerian National team coach Augustine Eguavoen described as tremendous
African teams' performance at the World Cup despite making early exists from the
tournament. The visiting coach said here yesterday that African teams such as
Togo, Ghana and Angola rose to the occasion and put up good performances against
experienced teams. Eguavoen urged Africa national teams to forge ahead as
they have some more years to prepare adequately for the next World Cup to be
hosted by South Africa. He pointed out that lack of basic equipment and
sponsorship is hindering African teams to perform better than western
