Nesta is yet to recover fully from his right thigh injury, walking off the field after playing a few minutes in a training game on Monday.

"Nesta is not available for tomorrow's game,"said Italy coach Marcello Lippi.

"We tried to see if he could recuperate but then we decided not to take any risks. We're hoping he returns for another important game."

The World Cup final will be played on Sunday in Berlin.
