A group of militants of Islamic Jihad(Holy War) escaped an Israeli raid on
their car in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun on Sunday, security
sources and witnesses said.
They said that the gunmen managed to jump out of the car before the missile
fired from an Israeli drone hit it and set it ablaze.
The raid came after an Israeli invasion into Beit Hanoun on Sunday morning,
killing three Palestinians and wounding eleven others, including a pregnant
woman, in shootout.
Hamas-led Ministry of Health said on Sunday that a total of 100 Palestinians
have been killed since Israeli army launched an operation dubbed "Sword of
Gilad" on July 6 in northern Gaza.
Meanwhile, a report issued by the Department of General Ambulance and
Emergency Services said that hundreds of Palestinians, including 170 children,
have been injured during the same period.
The Israeli military operation came as part of a large-scale offensive
against the Gaza Strip to free an abducted Israeli soldier and prevent
Palestinian militants from launching rockets at southern Israeli towns.
