Israeli warplanes bombarded ports in Lebanon on Saturday, security sources
said.
They said that Israeli jets struck ports of Beirut and the northern city of
Tripoli, the country's second largest city.
Israeli warplanes struck lighthouse, radar station and grain silos at the
port in Beirut, while Israeli helicopter gunships and gunboats fired four
missiles at the port of Tripoli, about 100 km north of Beirut, hitting grain
silos.
Israeli warplanes also fired two missiles at the port of the mainly Christian
city of Jounieh, north of Beirut.
Israeli jets also pounded Lebanese army radar station in the northern city of
Batroun, killing one soldier and wounding three others, the army said.
Israel has imposed a sea, air and land blockade of the country, targeting
bridges, roads and Beirut International Airport, since Hezbollah's capture of
two Israeli soldiers on Wednesday.
