Israeli warplanes bombed southern Beirut on Friday after an air raid
targeting the same area earlier in the day, witnesses said.
The Israeli warplanes fired a missile, which hit an apartment in a
residential building near the al-Nour radio station run by the Lebanese Shiite
militant group Hizbollah, said the witnesses.
Meanwhile, Hizbollah's al-Manar TV reported that the Israeli missile missed
the al-Nour radio station in the Haret Hreik neighborhood in southern Beirut,
adding that no injuries were caused.
Earlier in the day, Israeli aircraft struck the same area, a stronghold of
Hizbollah. The planes also fired missiles at a fuel storage tank at a power
station south of Beirut, killing three people and wounding dozens of others.
The bombardments came after Israel intensified airstrikes on Lebanese targets
following a cross-border attack by Hizbollah guerillas on Wednesday, during
which two Israeli soldiers were kidnapped and eight killed.
At least 10 bridges, two power stations and the international airport of
Beirut were hit during Israeli airstrikes.
The Israeli navy also blockaded Lebanese sea ports.
At least 60 Lebanese have been killed so far.
