Hizbollah militia have captured two Israeli soldiers in the border area
with Israel on Wednesday, the Lebanese Hizbollah's television channel al-Manar
reported.
The Islamic Resistance, an armed wing of Hizbollah, announced the capture in
a statement aired by al-Manar.
Meanwhile, an Israeli army spokesman told Xinhua that Israeli soldiers might
have been kidnapped in the clashes on the border, but could not confirm the
report yet.
Earlier, Hizbollah militants fired several rockets into northern Israel,
wounding four Israeli civilians. Following the rocket firing, the Israeli
tankers shelled southern Lebanon, Hizbollah's stronghold.
The Israeli forces and Hizbollah militants also traded fire over the
Israel-Lebanon border.
In addition, Israeli warplanes struck bridges in southern Lebanon.
The border confrontation and the reported abduction of Israeli soldiers came
as Israeli troops pressed ahead a massive offensive in the Gaza Strip in a bid
to free an Israeli soldier kidnapped by Palestinian militants and prevent
Palestinian rocket attacks.
