Lebanese Shiite militant group Hizbollah launched new salvos of rocket onto
northern Israel on Tuesday afternoon, local newspaper Ha'aretz reported on its
website.
At least six rockets landed in the key northern Israeli city of Haifa,
causing some damages but no casualties.
Haifa, the third largest Israeli city and commercial center, has suffered
repeated rocket attacks in the past two days and eight Israelis were killed and
dozens wounded in Hizbollah rocket attacks on the city on Sunday.
Rockets also hit Safed, another northern Israeli town, destroying a gas
pipeline in the town's industrial zone.
Meanwhile, other cities in northern Israel, including Shlomi, Tiberias and
Nahariya, were also targeted by Hizbollah rockets on Tuesday.
A barrage of Katyusha rockets landed at about 11:00 a.m. (0800 GMT) in open
lands near Shlomi, causing a fire in thorns.
No casualty or damage was immediately reported.
Hizbollah, which seized two Israeli soldiers and killed eight on July 12, has
rained rockets on Israel since Israel launched a massive assault in Lebanon.
