All 100 Thai workers in Beirut, Lebanon's capital city, have been evacuated
to safe places, Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced here on
Wednesday.
Thailand's Charge d'affaires in Saudi Arabia's capital of Riyadh Suvat
Chirapant and Ambassador to Israel Kasivat Paruggamamont have reported to Thai
foreign ministry that 11 more Thai workers were moved out of Beirut and arrived
in Syria's capital of Damascus Tuesday evening.
This makes the number of Thai laborers evacuated to Damascus increase to 26
so far, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement released Wednesday
morning.
The remaining 74 Thai workers were also evacuated from at-risk areas to safe
places Tuesday evening, said the official statement.
All the 100 Thai nationals in Beirut were evacuated following a series of
aerial bombing attacks against prime targets in Lebanon by Israel's air force
over the past week.
