The eastern Lebanese city of Baalbak, about 86 km northeast of Beirut, was
under an intensive Israeli air raids Friday morning, security sources and
witnesses said.
Baalbak, in the Bekaa region, was under 17 air raids carried out by Israeli
fighter jets in the early hours of the morning.
The air raids targeted inhabited areas in Hay-Al Assyra and al-Sheik-Habib in

Baalbak has witnessed Israeli attacks since violence erupted between Israel
and Lebanese Hezbollah after the Shiite militant group kidnapped two Israeli
soldiers and killed eight in a cross-border attack on July 12.
