Hezbollah rockets land in open areas in northern Israeli city
23/7/2006 10:46

Six rockets fired by Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah landed in open areas in the northern Israeli city of Haifa yesterday afternoon.
Several loud explosions were heard after sirens of the city were activated in both downtown and suburbs.
Residents were instructed to go into shelters and fortified structures.
A total of 18 people in northern Israel have been hospitalized for injuries or shock sustained from fresh Hezbollah rocket attacks since Saturday morning.
In Israel's northernmost city of Kiryat Shmona, six people were lightly injured as approximately 26 rockets landed in and around the city.
Other northern Israeli towns and areas, including Nahariya, Carmiel, Safed, Rosh Pina, Ma'alot and the northern Galilee panhandle were also attacked by Hezbollah rockets on Saturday.
Fourteen Katyusha rockets landed in Nahariya while 13 others hit Carmiel, where one person was moderately injured and another lightly injured.
Hezbollah continued showering Israel with rockets as the Jewish state kept up a 11-day-old massive assault in Lebanon following the capture of two Israeli soldiers by Hezbollah guerillas in a cross-border attack on July 12.
