The Spanish government would treat any people injured in the
Israel-Lebanon border conflict, its Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos said
here on Monday.
Moratinos said that the country had already set aside 60 to 100hospital beds
for potential patients.
He added that he was committed to working for peace in the region, and said
the government had agreed to offer 2 million euros (2.52 million U.S. dollars)
to help the victims of the conflict.
He said that all wounded, regardless of whether they were Israelis,
Palestinians or Lebanese, would be treated in Spanish medical centers in
Madrid's Gomez Ulla Military Hospital and other hospitals in the Autonomous
Communities -- Spain's self-governing regions.
He said that the Foreign Ministry would carry out the whole operation,
including all the necessary communication, and transport needed.
